Report of Regents Cultural Education Committee to The Board of Regents

The Cultural Education Committee held its scheduled meeting on December 12, 2022. All members were present except Regent Catherine Collins and Regent Elizabeth Hakanson, who were excused. Chancellor Lester W. Young also attended the meeting but did not vote on any action.  

ACTION ITEMS

Appointments to the Regents Advisory Council on Libraries [CE (A) 1] - Department staff presented recommendations to appoint four new members to the Regents Advisory Council on Libraries.

Motion by Regent Tanikawa.
Seconded by Regent Cea.
The motion passed unanimously.  

MOTION FOR ACTION BY FULL BOARD  

The Cultural Education Committee recommends, and we move, that the Board of Regents act affirmatively upon each recommendation in the written report of the Committee's deliberations at its meeting on December 12, 2022, copies of which have been distributed to each Regent. 

MATTERS NOT REQUIRING BOARD ACTION

State Archives Grant Programs to Preserve and Promote Archival Records - Department staff provided an overview of the State Archives grant programs that support, promote and recognize sound archival and records management practices, as well as to encourage creative and valuable uses of archival records.
