Merger Revision to a Charter Authorized by the Board of Regents - Department staff will present a recommendation for a charter merger revision.
Renewal Recommendations for Charter Schools Authorized by the Buffalo Public Schools Board of Education - Department staff will present Buffalo Public School Board recommendations for charter renewals.
Renewal Recommendations for Charter Schools Authorized by the New York City Department of Education - Department staff will present a NYC DOE Chancellor recommendation for a charter renewal.
Revision Recommendation for a Charter School Authorized by the New York City Department of Education - Department staff will present a NYC DOE Chancellor recommendation for a charter revision.
Proposed Amendments to Sections 100.2(hh) and 200.7, and Subpart 57-1 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Reports of Child Abuse in an Educational Setting - Department staff will discuss proposed regulations to conform to Education Law Article 23-B which was amended to mandate reporting of suspected child abuse in private schools that were previously exempt under the law.
Proposed Addition of Part 130 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Substantially Equivalent Instruction for Nonpublic School Students - Commissioner Elia will discuss proposed regulations to conform to Education Law Article 65 Substantial Equivalence of Instruction.

Family and Community Engagement - Department staff will provide an update on SED’s Family and Community Engagement work as well as an update on the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) third symposium, “Building a Pipeline of Opportunities.”

Proposed Amendments to Sections 80-5.8 and 80-5.20 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Eligibility Requirements for the Endorsement Pathway for Certification as an Educator in the Classroom Teaching Service or in the Educational Leadership Service - Department staff will present regulatory amendments to change the eligibility requirements for the reciprocity endorsement pathway for certificate applicants who have three (3) or more years of experience as a certified teacher/administrator in another state.
Proposed Amendment to Sections 80-3.15 and 80-4.3 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Extension of the Application Deadline for the Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) for Certain Teachers of Students with Disabilities and to the Extension of the Deadline for Completing Teaching Experience While Under a HOUSSE Rubric for the SOCE and Limited Extension for Certain Teachers of Students with Disabilities - Department staff will present regulatory amendments to extend the application deadline for the SOCE and the deadline for completing teaching experience while under a High, Objective, Uniform State Standard of Evaluation (HOUSSE) rubric for the SOCE and limited extension to June 30, 2020.
Substitute Teachers - Department staff will present data on the rate of teacher absenteeism statewide for the two most recently completed school years as well as information collected from BOCES regarding the fill rate for substitute teachers and examples of partnerships between school districts and education preparation programs.
