Innovative Strategies to Maximize Access to the Federal Child Nutrition Programs - Department staff will provide an update on Child Nutrition in New York State as well as share highlights from 2017 initiatives including the Summer Food Service Program.
Proposed Amendment to Sections 135.1 and 135.3 of the Commissioner’s Regulations Relating to Health Education - Department staff will present proposed amendments to §135.3 of the Commissioner’s regulations to further define mental health education within the context of health education in accordance with provisions of Chapter 390 of the Laws of 2016 as amended by Chapter 1 of the Laws of 2017.

This will be a report on the first year of this joint program with highlights of impacts and outcomes from several repositories across New York State.

Proposed Amendment to §52.21 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Graduate Admission Examination Requirements to Implement Chapter 454 of the Laws of 2017 - Department staff will present a proposed amendment for emergency action to §52.21 of the Commissioner’s regulations to align the graduate admission examination requirement with a change in statute.
Proposed Amendment to Subpart 4-2 of the Rules of the Board of Regents and §52.21 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Continuous Accreditation Requirement for Educator Preparation Providers - Department staff will present a proposed amendment to §52.21 of the Commissioner’s regulations related to the accreditation of educator preparation providers, which is required for program registration.
New York State Professional Standards and Practices Board for Teaching Annual Report - The Co-Chairs of the Professional Standards and Practices Board (PSPB) will review highlights of the PSPB annual report.
Update on New York State’s Participation in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) - Department staff will provide an update on New York’s participation in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).
Proposed Amendment to §80-1.5 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Safety Nets for Teacher Certification Examinations - Department staff will present a proposed amendment to §80-1.5 of the Commissioner’s regulations to provide flexibility to candidates who choose to use one or more safety nets.
