Expanding the Pool of Applicants to Serve as Impartial Hearing Officers to Hear Special Education Due Process Complaints Filed in New York City - Department staff will discuss potential changes to the requirements for impartial hearing officers for special education due process hearings.
Special Education Disability Classification “Emotional Disturbance” - Department staff will discuss changing the term “emotional disturbance” to another term as one of the 13 classifications for students with disabilities.

Charter Schools: Renewals to Charters Authorized by the Trustees of the State University of New York - Department staff will present State University of New York Trustees recommendations for early charter renewals.
Proposed Addition of Section 170.14 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Financial Transparency Reporting Requirements - Department staff will propose for adoption a regulatory amendment to codify the requirements for the Every Student Succeeds Act Financial Transparency Report requirement.
Conditional Approval of the Learning Standards for Computer Science and Digital Fluency - Department staff will present the draft K-12 Computer Science/Digital Fluency Learning Standards for Board conditional approval.
Proposed Amendment of Section 119.3 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Financial Transparency and Data Reporting Requirements for Charter Schools - Department staff will propose a regulatory amendment as it relates to academic and fiscal reporting requirements for complying with the ESSA financial transparency requirement and other data reporting requirements with respect to charter schools.

Proposed Amendment to Sections 69.1, 69.2 and 69.3 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Education, Experience, Examination and Endorsement Requirements for Licensure as an Architect - Department staff will present for discussion a proposed amendment to conform the regulation to national standards regarding the education, experience, examination and endorsement for licensure as an architect.
Proposed Amendment to Section 61.18 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Residency Program Requirement for Dental Licensure - Department staff will present for discussion a proposed amendment to the regulation to add dental anesthesiology to the list of accredited residency programs in a specialty of dentistry that can be used to meet the residency program requirement for dental licensure.

Proposed Amendments to Sections 80-3.15 and 80-4.3 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to the Addition of Subject Areas to the Limited Extension and Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) for Certain Teachers of Students with Disabilities and Technical Amendments to the Limited Extension, SOCE, and Subject Area Extensions in Grades 7-12 for Certain Teachers of Students with Disabilities - Department staff will present proposed regulatory amendments to add general science and languages other than English to the list of subject areas for the limited extension and SOCE for certain teachers of student with disabilities as well as proposed technical amendments to add certain special education certificate titles to the list of titles eligible for the limited extension, SOCE, and subject area extension in grades 7-12 for certain teacher of student teachers with disabilities.
Update on the Implementation of the edTPA Teacher Certification Requirement in New York State - Department staff will review the edTPA and provide background regarding the work of the edTPA Task Force, recommendations made at that time, and changes that were made as a result of those recommendations.
Proposed Amendment to Section 80-1.6 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education to Allow a Time Extension for the Initial Reissuance and Provisional Renewal - Department staff will present proposed regulatory amendments that would enable educators who hold a provisional renewal or initial reissuance to extend the time validity of their expired certificate, once per certificate title, for three years from the expiration date of such certificate.
