Issue for Decision (Consent Agenda)

 

Should the Regents approve the proposed Appointments of Members to the State Boards for the Professions and the Reappointment of a Member to the State Committee for Athletic Trainers; as well as Appointments of Auxiliary Members to the State Boards for the Professions for Service on Licensure Disciplinary and/or Licensure Restoration and Moral Character Panels; and Appointments and Reappointments of Extended Members to the State Boards for the Professions for Service on Licensure Disciplinary and/or Licensure Restoration and Moral Character Panels as listed on the attached?

 

Proposed Handling

 

          The question will come before the Higher Education and Professional Practice Committee at its December 2005 meeting where it will be voted on and action taken.  It will then come before the full Board at its December 2005 meeting for final action.

 

Procedural History

 

          Approval of board members by the Board of Regents is required by Section 6508(4) of the Education Law.

          Information on the proposed appointees is noted on the attachment.

 

Recommendation

 

          The Regents should approve the proposed appointments.

 

Timetable for Implementation

 

          If the Regents approve these appointments, members’ terms will go into effect as noted on the attachment.
