SUMMARY:
The State University of New York Board of Trustees has petitioned the Regents for authority to confer the Master of Science (M.S.) degree at State University College (SUC) at Geneseo. At Geneseo, the trustees now award graduate degrees including the Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Professional Studies (M.P.S.), Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.), Master of Science for Teachers (M.S.T.), Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.), and Master of Library Science (M.L.S.).
SUC at Geneseo has requested approval of a degree change from Master of Arts (M.A.) to Master of Science (M.S.) for its licensure-qualifying Accounting program. The Office of the Professions has determined that the proposed award change would meet the standards in Regents Rules for the award of the M.S. degree.
I recommend that the Regents take the following action:
VOTED, that the State University of New York Board of Trustees be authorized, effective June 22, 2004, to confer the degree of Master of Science (M.S.) on students successfully completing registered programs at State University College at Geneseo.
