Report of Regents Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES) Committee to The Board of Regents

Your Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES) Committee held a meeting on November 16, 2021.  All members were present, except for Regent Tilles, who was excused. 

MATTERS NOT REQUIRING BOARD ACTION

Inclusive from the Start: The Universal Design for Learning Framework – The Committee was provided with a presentation by Dr. Christopher Hromalik, from Onondaga Community College, on learner variability, Universal Design, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Dr. Hromalik shared information about the Universal Design for Learning framework and how it can mitigate barriers to successful learning.  He also shared examples of UDL in higher education and information about UDL professional development.

2022-2023 Non-State Aid Budget and Legislative Priorities – The Committee was provided with an update on the 2022-23 potential Non-State Aid budget and legislative priorities for ACCES.  The proposed priorities include: Enhancing Supports and Services for Postsecondary Success of Students with Disabilities; and Funding the Expansion of the Readers Aid Program.
