A provisional charter was granted to this corporation on March 4, 1915 to operate a library.  Such provisional charter was made absolute on February 21, 1941 and amended on November 18, 1988.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to designate the service area of the library to be the Town of Brutus, to specify the number of trustees to be not less than five nor more than twenty-five, and to designate the Commissioner of Education as agent of the corporation upon whom process in any action or proceeding against it may be served.  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

The directors of The Susquehanna River Archeological Center of Native Indian Studies, a Pennsylvania not-for-profit corporation have petitioned for consent to file an application for authority to operate in New York State as an authorized foreign education corporation pursuant to Education Law §216-a(3).  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the consent to the filing of such application for authority be granted.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation on April 1, 1909 to operate a library.  Such provisional charter was made absolute on May 2, 1912 and amended on February 10, 2009.  The trustees of the Village of Castleton have requested the Board of Regents to appoint the following individuals for to the vacant trustee positions of the corporation, all of which became vacant by operation of law because of the failure of the trustees to timely take and file their oaths of office: Geoffrey J. Flynn, Doreen M. Truesdell, Donald K. McKnight, Mary Lou Kulpa, Marge Kehrer, Faith Schottenfeld, John Yuzynko, Carol Dratch-Kovler and Carolyn Konig be appointed as trustees of the Castleton Public Library effective immediately, with terms to expire, respectively, on June 30, 2017, June 30, 2016, June 30, 2015, June 30, 2015, June 30, 2014, June 30, 2013, June 30, 2012, June 30, 2011, and June 30, 2011.  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that Board of Regents appoint the aforementioned individuals as trustees of the corporation.

Such absolute charter was amended on several occasions with the most recent being July 28, 2009. The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority for the corporation to also operate at 87-25 136th Street, Richmond Hill, New York 11418.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation on April 29, 1992 to operate an institution of high school.  Such provisional charter was made absolute on April 29, 1997.  The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents for an amendment of the absolute charter to add authority to operate a grade 9-12 high school for girls, and also requests the Board of Regents consent to the filing of a certificate of assumed name pursuant to General Business Law §130 to authorize the corporation to use the assumed name “Midreshet Shalhevet-Shalhevet High School for Girls.”  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the absolute charter be amended as requested, and that the consent of the Board of Regents to the filing of the certificate of assumed name be granted.

The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the provisional charter be extended for a three-year period.

BLUE MAN CREATIVITY CENTER SCHOOL AND BLUE MAN CREATIVITY, INC.

New York, New York County

The board of trustees of  the Blue Man Creativity Center School and Blue Man Creativity, Inc. have petitioned the Board of Regents, pursuant to Education Law §223, for an order of consolidation.  A provisional charter was issued to Blue Man Creativity Center School on December 16, 2008.  The Blue Man Creativity Center, Inc. was incorporated under Section 101 of the Delaware General Corporation Law on March 16, 2007 and qualified to do business in New York State on September 17, 2007.  The Blue Man Creativity Center School, the surviving corporation, will assume all the assets, liabilities and responsibilities of both organizations.  The consolidated corporation will operate under the provisional charter granted to Blue Man Creativity Center School.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that an order of consolidation of Blue Man Creativity Center School and Blue Man Creativity, Inc. be granted.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation under the corporate name “The Missionary Training Institute” on March 10, 1944 to establish an institution of higher education for the moral and educational improvement of men and women for missionary, religious and literary purposes in accordance with the doctrinal usages of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.  Such provisional charter was amended on several occasions and made absolute on March 25, 1949. Such absolute charter was amended on May 22, 1953, January 28, 1955 and January 27, 1956 to change the corporate name to “Nyack Missionary College.”  Such absolute charter was amended on April 29, 1960, April 28, 1961, December 20, 1963 and June 23, 1972 to change the corporate name to “Nyack College.”  Such absolute charter was amended on several occasions with the most recent being July 18, 2002 . The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority for the College to confer the degree of Doctor of Ministry degree (D.Min.). The Office of Higher Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended to authorize the institution to operate postsecondary degree programs registered by the State Education Department and to confer degrees approved and authorized by the Board of Regents in connection with such programs, including the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree.

An absolute charter and consolidation with Webb’s Academy and Home for Shipbuilders was granted to this corporation on February 18, 1994 with the surviving corporation being the Webb Institute.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to increase the maximum number of trustees to forty. The Office of Professions recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

The Office of Professions recommends that the provisional charter be amended accordingly.
