Teaching About the Holocaust and Other Genocides - Staff from the Department, the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center of NY (HHREC), and the New York State Archives Partnership Trust (APT) will present the “Teaching the Holocaust and Other Genocides” online resource platform that has been developed to support educators in teaching about this critical topic. The platform highlights resources by time period, case studies, learning activities, literature guides, and a range of ways to engage students in discussion and deeper learning. NYSED staff will also highlight recent professional learning events that brought educators from across the state together to learn about Holocaust instruction. |

Cultural Education
Presentation on the Role and Impact of the New York State Research Library - Department staff will provide an overview of the New York State Library’s Research Library, its foundational history, core services, and evolving role in supporting public access to information. Established in 1818, the Research Library is one of the oldest in the U.S. and serves as a vital resource for New York State government, researchers, and the public. The presentation will highlight key services including acquisition and cataloging, reference and public access, digitization efforts, and stewardship of world-renowned collections. Staff will also discuss how the Library leverages its infrastructure to connect New Yorkers to essential legal, historical, scientific, and cultural materials, emphasizing its ongoing commitment to information access and preservation. |

Review of Portrait of a Graduate Regulatory Agenda - Department staff will provide the Board with an overview of the regulatory agenda needed to implement the New York State Portrait of a Graduate as well as resources being developed and already implemented to support the implementation of New York Inspires. Proposed Addition of New Section 136.10 to the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Regarding Statewide Protocols for Diapering and Toileting of Students in Public Schools - A new state law requires the Commissioner of Education to establish uniform statewide protocols for diapering and toileting of students in public schools. Department staff will present a proposed regulation for the implementation of P-12 protocols for diapering and toileting of students. Proposed Addition of New Section 114.6 to the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Outreach for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Department Staff will present a proposed addition to conform to Education Law §915-a, which requires schools participating in the Universal Free Meals program to promote Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program enrollment to maximize direct certification for free school meals. |

Proposed Amendment of Section 63.8 and Addition of Section 63.18 to the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Shared Pharmacy Services - Department staff will discuss the proposed addition of section 63.18 to the Commissioner’s regulations to conform them to Chapter 491 of the Laws, which effective May 22, 2026, amends the Education Law to permit shared pharmacy services in New York State by establishing the standards by which resident and/or non-resident pharmacists and pharmacies may participate in shared pharmacy services. |
