Garden City, Nassau County

 

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on July 27, 1990 to operate a museum.  Such provisional charter was extended by Regents action on April 24, 1996 and amended on November 14, 1997.  The board of trustees has applied for an absolute charter. The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the provisional charter be made absolute.

Fulton, Oswego County

 

An absolute charter in the first instance was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on November 21, 1895 to operate a public library.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on March 11, 1997.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to specify the number of trustees to be not less than five nor more than fifteen, to designate the Commissioner of Education as agent of the corporation upon whom process in any action or proceeding against it may be served, and to add the language necessary to maintain tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3). The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

Poplar, Cayuga County

 

An absolute charter in the first instance was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on June 26, 1895 operate an association library.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on February 25, 1983.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to designate the service area to be the Town of Venice, to designate the Commissioner of Education as agent of the corporation upon whom process in any action or proceeding against it may be served, and to add the language necessary to maintain tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3).  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on March 7, 2000 to operate an association library to serve the residents of the Town of Mina.  The board of trustees has applied for an extension to the provisional charter.  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that the provisional charter be extended for a period of five years to allow the corporation additional time to develop its programs and otherwise demonstrate that it can meet the requirements for an absolute charter.

The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents to form a corporation to disseminate and encourage a greater knowledge of the history of the States of New York and Pennsylvania and particularly the Villages, Towns, Cities and Counties through which runs the canal and gravity railroad and their surrounding areas. The corporation will not be authorized to operate or maintain a museum, or to own or hold collections in connection therewith.  The Office of Cultural Education recommends that a certificate of incorporation be issued.

The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the provisional charter to change the corporate name to “Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan High School” and, as so amended, for an absolute charter.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the provisional charter be amended accordingly and, as so amended, be made absolute.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on June 8, 1999 to operate a center based preschool for children with handicapping conditions from three to five years of age and a kindergarten and grade one through eight elementary school for children with some or all of the characteristics of autistic disorder.  Such provisional charter was amended and, as so amended, extended by Regents action on July 18, 2002.  The board of trustees has applied for an absolute charter.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the provisional charter be made absolute.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents on January 25, 1978 to conduct and operate a private secondary school for pupils in grades seven through twelve.  Such provisional charter was amended by Regents action on January 24, 1979 and June 21, 1979 and was made absolute by Regents action on September 25, 1981.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on April 26, 1985, July 22, 1986, and November 9, 2001.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to change the corporate name to “Anderson Center for Autism.”   The Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) has been provided with an opportunity to review this action and the trustees have been advised that the granting of any amendment thereof does not constitute approval for state funding for programs and services under the jurisdiction of VESID.  The Office of Nonpublic School Services recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents under the corporate name “Mercy Junior College” on October 23, 1952 to establish and maintain a junior college.  Such provisional charter was amended by Regents action on November 22, 1957 to change the corporate name to “Mercy College” and, as so amended, extended; amended and extended by Regents action on October 28, 1960; extended by Regents action on September 27, 1963; and made absolute by Regents action on June 25, 1965.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on various occasions with the last action being on March 7, 2000.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority for the corporation to confer the degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.).   The Office of Professions recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

New York City, New York County

 

A provisional charter was granted to this corporation by action of the Board of Regents under the corporate name “Pace Institute” on May 17, 1935 to operate a college.  Such provisional charter was amended and made absolute by Regents action on May 15, 1942.  Such absolute charter was amended by Regents action on several occasions, including on December 17, 1948 to change the corporate name to “Pace College” and on March 23, 1973 to change the corporate name to “Pace University” and was last amended on December 16, 1994.  The board of trustees has applied for an amendment to the absolute charter to add authority for the corporation to confer the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) at its Pleasantville campus. The Office of Higher Education recommends that the absolute charter be amended accordingly.

The board of trustees has petitioned the Board of Regents to form a corporation to establish and maintain an institution of continuing education and training for qualified students of psychotherapy that provides an educational program focused on the philosophical and scientific foundations of psychoanalysis, the practical application of the established professional approaches to psychoanalysis, and major philosophical and technical innovations in psychoanalysis; to facilitate communication about conceptual and technical issues within the psychoanalytic community through workshops, courses and other educational means; and to engage in community-oriented mental health activities such as public education.  The Office of the Professions recommends that a provisional charter be granted for a period of five years.
