History
Terms for members of the State Professional Standards and Practices Board for Teaching are set forth in Regents Rule 3.14. The Board of Regents appoints members to the Standards Board.
Background Information
The terms of seven members expire on June 30, 2006. Of these, five members are eligible for, and interested in, reappointment. Also, the term of Patrick Allen, as Board co-chair, expires June 30. The following persons are recommended for reappointment to additional, four-year terms: Debra A. Colley (higher education), R. Lloyd Jaeger (school administrator), Shelley Rappaport (public), Patricia E. Roberts (teacher), and Kathleen M. Taylor (teacher). Patrick Allen (higher education) is recommended for reappointment as co-chair to a two-year term.

Recommendation
VOTED: that Debra A. Colley (higher education), R. Lloyd Jaeger (school administrator), Shelley Rappaport (public), Patricia E. Roberts (teacher), and Kathleen M. Taylor (teacher) be reappointed, each to a four-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2010; and that Patrick Allen (higher education) be re-appointed as co-chair for a two-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2008.
