RATIONALE FOR ITEM:	Interboro Institute needs Regents authority in order to award the A.A.S. degree

SUMMARY:

 

Interboro Institute, New York, New York has petitioned the Regents for authority to offer the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.  The Institute is currently authorized to confer the Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) degree.  Interboro Institute offers A.O.S. programs in the discipline areas of Business, the Health Professions, and the Social Sciences.

 

Recommendation:  I recommend that the Regents take the following action:

 

VOTED, that Interboro Institute, New York, New York be authorized, effective July 21, 2004, to confer the degree of Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) on students successfully completing registered programs at its main campus.
