No. 1

PACIFIC COLLEGE OF ORIENTAL MEDICINE (NEW YORK), INC.

New York City, New York County

The consent of the Board of Regents to the filing of a certificate of incorporation under Business Corporation Law §402 was granted on November 6, 1998.  The corporation inadvertently dissolved on August 23, 2004.  The board of directors has reapplied for the consent of the Board of Regents, pursuant to Education Law §§224 and 6506(3) and Regents Rules §§3.29 and 3.46, and of the Commissioner of Education, to the filing of a certificate of incorporation under Business Corporation Law (BCL) §402 to operate a college offering Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science (B.P.S./M.S.) degree programs in acupuncture and Oriental medicine which will qualify candidates for examinations leading to licensure in acupuncture, and for authority to confer the degrees of Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.). The board of trustees has also requested that the Board of Regents consent to the filing of a certificate of amendment of such certificate of incorporation to authorize the corporation to also operate Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) and Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.) degree programs which will qualify candidates for examinations leading to licensure in massage therapy, and for authority to confer the degree of Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.).  The Office of the Professions recommends that the Regents consent to the filing of such certificate of incorporation and to the filing of such certificate of amendment, and that authority for the College to confer the degrees of Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.), Master of Science (M.S.) and Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) be granted.
