Harry Phillips, 3rd graduated from Harvard with honors and received a Masters in Financial Services from The American College. He was appointed by the state legislature to the New York State Board of Regents, on which he has served since 2001. Harry was Board Chair of Westchester Community College for many years.
Regent Phillips was a founder of H & R Phillips, Inc., a general brokerage agency; The Management Compensation group, a benefits consulting firm; Stein & Day., a book publisher; Datamark, a manufacturer of high speed printers and served as president of Geothermal Electric Corp. He is presently Managing Director of Winged Keel Group, Inc., a financial security management firm in New York City.
He authored the textbook, “Advanced Employee Benefit Planning” and wrote an industry newsletter for 40 years. “Leader Magazine” named Harry as one of the 25 most outstanding life underwriters for the decades of the ‘70s and ‘80s and ‘again in the decade of the ‘90s.
Regent Phillips and his wife, Marjorie, have three grown children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Regent Phillips has been active in civic and charitable organizations in New York City and in Hartsdale, NY, where he resides. He is a board member of WISE Services, Inc., which provides a structured but independent study program for the senior semester of high school and a board member of the Westchester Community College Foundation. He was a past president of his local PTA and a founder and past president of the Woodland High School Scholarship Fund.
